Sports Massage

by Chris Wilson

When I started Sports Massage 23 years ago, the goals were simple, to help athletes in their competition preparation, to aid their recovery post completion / heavy training loads and to address small niggles before they became injuries. The client was able to return or continue training / competition sooner and hopefully remain injury free.

This fundamentally hasn’t changed, but the ‘toolbox’ I use has never stopped growing, new techniques, new theory, new tools, when you come to Bodylab, after a brief verbal assessment Chris will assess, test, palpate and then choose techniques to achieve the desired change in tissue

You could have a Sports Massage daily, we suggest every 4 weeks is a good protocol to follow, most training plans follow a 3 week build one week recovery process. So a massage in the recovery week is an ideal reward for that hard work and leaves you feeling ready to go again. With injuries / niggles, a few more frequent visits maybe required to treat the injury and progress rehabilitation exercises.

Sports Massage is suitable for most people, you don’t have to be an elite athlete, indeed many clients are leisure runners, who not only benefit from Chris’s treatments, but his knowledge about training and mentoring to help them achieve the challenge they have set themselves..
